Services for Agnes C. Firgard, 60, Branson, formerly of Ozark, were held Nov. 7 at Harris Funeral Chapel in Ozark with Arthur C. Fullbright officiating. Burial was in Highlandville Cemetery. Mrs. Firgard died Nov. 4 at Skaggs Community Hospital, Branson after a long illness. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Mary Miller, Branson; a sister, Mrs. Jean Rantz, Highlandville; a brother, Duane Miller, Waterloo, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gerald Leo Fischer was born August 12, 1943, in Verona, Missouri. He died April 14, 2012 after a sudden illness. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Virginia Fischer; a sister, Millie Lou, and his beloved nephew, Darrill. Gerald is survived by: his wife, Nancy Jo; son Jason and wife Michelle; granddaughters Aubrey and Kaitlin, who were the lights of his life; daughter Christa Mitchell and husband Jeff; sister Judy Schmidtke; brothers Jack, Bob and his wife Mary Ann, Bill and his wife Christine; uncle Bud McNerney and Sandra; many nieces, nephews, cousins, his poker buddies, dear friends, and church family. Gerald served his country in the U.S. Navy and was enjoying retirement. No visitation is planned. A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Billings, with Father John Braun officiating, under direction of Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. Charles Robert Fish, the son of Earnest and Lettie Hicks Fish, was born in Springfield, Missouri, on November 17, 1925 and passed away at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas on August 17, 2003 at the age of 77 years and 9 months. On December 26, 1946 he was united in marriage to Wilma Naugle in Mountain Home, Arkansas, who survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Jalana Jenkins and husband, Kenny, of Sparta, Missouri; and one son, Randy E. Fish of Rolla, Missouri. Additional survivors are two grandchildren, Keith and wife, Debbie Jenkins, of Sparta, Missouri, and Jason Fish of Peace Valley, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Kelsey Jenkins, Bradley Jenkins, and Nicole Jenkins all of Sparta, MO, and Caleb Surrette of Peace Valley, MO; sister-in-law, Perna Hailey; special nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his infant son and daughter, Terry Kevin and Sherry Jean; his parents, Earnest Fish and Lettie Hicks Fish (who died during childbirth); also his grandparents, Robert and Laura Hicks, who raised him in their home from birth; grandson, Ken Jenkins; mother-in-law, Mae Naugle; and brother-in-law, Robert Hailey. He graduated from the College of Mortuary Science in St. Louis, Missouri, and became a licensed mortician and funeral director, having worked at that profession for 44 years for the Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes in Gainesville and Ava, Missouri. He also served as the Ozark County Coroner for many years. He was a veteran and served in World War II in Company A, 61st Armored Infantry Battalion 10th Armored Division, under the command of General George Patton. He was a charter member of the Gainesville Lions Club and a faithful member of the Church of Christ. He and his wife, Wilma, owned and operated the business "Wilma's Apple Dolls" for many years and he truly enjoyed playing Ozark Mountain Folk Music. Charles loved to visit with friends and family and walk his dog, Pieree. Visitation will be today, August 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, in Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville, Missouri. Burial will follow in Wasola in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Funeral services were held March 2 at 3:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home of the Ozark Undertaking Co. by Rev. Swadley of Springfield with burial in Highlandville cemetery under direction of T.B. Chaffin.

Jack D. Fisher, 70, Clever, passed away April 9, 2007, in Cox Hospital after a lengthy illness. His Baptist faith and love of gospel music sustained him through trying times and pain. He was retired, with 25 years, from McDonnell Douglas/Boeing in St. Louis. In later years he enjoyed their country home, over the road driving, and working at D & D Feed in Nixa. He is survived by his wife, Delores; a son, Douglas, Alabama; a brother, Bob, Washington; three stepsons; Eddie, Scott, and Dwight Ebersold; and six grandchildren. No visitation or services are planned at Jack's request. A memorial service is planned for later. Cremation will be under direction of Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Season's Hospices, 1354 East Kingsley, Springfield, MO 65804. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Mrs. LaDonna Mae Fisher, 69, of Route 9, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday in her home after a short illness. Mrs. Fisher had been a resident of Springfield for 25 years and was associated with her husband who operated Fisher’s Hiboy and Fisher’s Steak House. She was a member of King’s Way Methodist Church and secretary of Missouri Prayer Band. Survivors include her husband, H. C. “Jimmy”; one son, Jack of Tuba City, Ariz.; two daughters, Mrs. Suzette Rogers and Mrs. Elizabeth Garrett, both of Springfield; four sisters, Mrs. Theo VandiVeer, also of Route 9, Mrs. Velma Johnson of Des Plaines, Ill., Mrs. Mabel Hillock of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Mrs. Vermelta Scott of Midland, Tex. and six grandchildren. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Rivermonte Chapel with the Rev. Gene Atkins officiating. Burial was in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Nelse Fisher, aged 74, died Monday, March 2, 1936. He united with the Christian church at Highlandville 40 years ago. He leaves 1 brother, Joe Fisher of California. 2 sisters, Myrtle Arnold of Springfield and Ida Davis of Highlandville, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Jones cemetery Tuesday, March 3 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Harding of Nixa. Burial was made under the direction of the B.C. Klepper Funeral Home.

Paul Fisher, 79, of Rockaway Beach, lifelong resident of Taney County, died Wednesday morning at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, after an illness of two years. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Oak Ridge Full Gospel Church. Survivors include his wife, Callie; a son, Ross, of Independence, a sister, Mrs. Anna Browning, Rockaway Beach; a stepson, Lance Keithley, Orlando, Fla.; and three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday in Oak Ridge Full Gospel Church south of Ozark with the Rev. Wilbur Blansit officiating. Burial was in Ozark Memorial Park at Branson under direction of Clarkson of Forsyth.

In Memory of Paton Fisher who died January 29, 1921 and was buried in the Jones’ cemetery February 1, 1921. Paton enlisted in the U. S. army December 29, 1921, [sic] and was there about one month. He was about 19 years of age and was loved by all who knew him. He leaves a mother, father, five sisters, four brothers and a host of friends to mourn his loss. Uncle Jim White preached his funeral at the cemetery.

Rondal Lindsey Fisher, age 82 of Ozark, passed away April 1, 2012 in the Baptist Home. He was born in Blytheville Arkansas on January 13, 1930, the son of Irl Lindsey and Anna Mae Fisher. Ron’s early years were in the Holland, Missouri school systems. At the age of 14 his parents moved the Couch, Missouri where he finished his high school education. He went on to attend Missouri University in Columbia. Ron served a year of active duty with the Navy and six years of inactive duty. Rondal married Tilda Ann Trantham on June 20, 1953. Survivors include: his wife; two sons, Jeffery LaWaun Fisher, St. Charles, Missouri and Rondal Kelly Fisher and wife Darla, South Hutchinson, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Danielle Perrin and husband Cary, Hannibal, Missouri, Jennifer Dement and husband Gabe, Sikeston, Missouri, Andrew Fisher and wife Jessica, St. Charles, and Lindsey and Karissa Fisher, South Hutchinson, Kansas; and five great grandchildren, K.J., Van and Molly Ann Perrin and Karleigh and Tucker Dement. Ron’s first public employment was in civil service government offices in Washington, DC. He later transferred back to St. Louis. While in St. Louis he accepted the call to ministry and began ministry as Assistant Pastor of West Park Baptist Church in St. Louis. He finished his undergraduate degree at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. He then completed his Master of Divinity degree at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ron pastored churches at Sorento, Illinois, First Baptist Church Van Buren Missouri, Riverview Baptist Church in St. Louis and First Baptist Church Affton in St. Louis. He was Assistant Pastor at Christ Memorial Baptist Church, St. Louis and First Baptist Church LaGrange, Missouri. He led music at Port Caddo Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. In retirement he did interim work and taught/led small group Bible classes. His membership was at First Baptist Church West Plains, Missouri. He leaves a great legacy of love for God and his family. He will be missed but we are so grateful for the wisdom, love and memories with which he has blessed us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Baptist Home, 1625 W. Garton Road, Ozark, MO 65721 or in care of the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 5 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Ruby Vida Fisher, age 81, passed away at 7:55 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009, in the Hot Spring County Medical Center in Malvern, Arkansas after suffering respiratory shutdown. She had been a 30 years resident of Nixa and the Finley River Community, and was a long-time member of the Riverdale Baptist Church, south of Nixa. Mrs. Fisher was the wife of William R. Fisher who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Dana L. Martin, wife of Dr. Ken Martin, with whom she was living; three grandchildren, Tamara Carlile, Brian Martin, and Shalon Thrush; and five great-grandchildren, Brady, Blake, and Morgan Carlile, and Taylor and Addison Thrush. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Tommy Bilyeu officiating. Burial will follow in Jones-Chastain Cemetery. He was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School director for 13 years. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps in World War II and was a member of Friend Lodge A. F. and A. M. He is survived by his wife, Ruby, of the home; a daughter, Dana Lee Martin, Malvern, Ark; three grandchildren, Tamara Lynn Carlile, Frankfort, Ind; Brian William Martin and Shalon Lee Martin, Malvern, Ark; a brother, Gene Fisher, Collinsville, ILL; and a sister, Betty Domescik, Collinsville, Ill. Audrey was born in the Luck Community near Walnut Grove and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1954. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church. She was married to Ted Fisk and is survived by three children, son, Roger Fisk and wife Sharon, who is serving in the U.S. Coast Guard in Florida; two daughters, Pamela Nguyen and Connie Agee, both of Nixa, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol Willoughby and husband Edward of Ozark, Mo.; and two sisters-in-law, Verna Eaves and Sharon Eaves; and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, with Rev. Ethel D. Fisk, 94, of Ozark, died at 2:30 pm Aug 6 at Springfield Community Hospital. Services for Mrs. Fisk were held at 1 pm Wednesday at the Harris Chapel, Ozark, with E. J. Hampton officiating. Graveside services followed at Sounder Cemetery, Wassola. Mrs. Fisk, a native of Ozark County, had resided in several western states for much of her early life. She returned to Missouri in 1945, and was living in Ozark at the time of her death. She is survived by two sons, Warren A. Gay, Phoenix, AZ, and Don O. Gay, Granite City, IL; four daughters, Vivian Allen, Ozark, Grace Mills, Columbia, Louise Sykes, Vancouver, WA, and Bea Brandenburger, Springfield; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one sister, Mrs. Vada Bennett, Wassola.

She was born July 29, 1932 in Dogwood, the daughter of Murlin and Ida (Yates) Swearengin. On October 27, 1951, she was united in marriage to Emra Fitzgerald. He preceded her in death as well as her parents and a brother, Tommy. Betty attended Dogwood Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors include three brothers, Jimmy Swearengin and wife Katherine, Dean Swearengin and wife Dortha, all of Sparta, and Dwight Swearengin and wife, Diana, Seymour; three sisters, Peggy Grimes and husband Jess, Rogersville, Joan Workman and husband Stanley, Dogwood, and Janis Preston and husband Bill, Sparta; two special nieces, Melanie Mayes and Mikka Swearengin; and many other relatives. Elsie Mae Fitzgerald, age 87, of Sparta, passed away April 19, 2007, in Cox Hospital. She was born on March 21, 1920, to Frank and Alice Heath Adams. Elsie retired from FASCO in 1986. She was a member of Union Hill Church, Oldfield, and enjoyed piecing quilts, sewing, crocheting, garden club, and participating in church activities. Her survivors include her daughter, Veta Buxton and husband, Ellis, Sparta; her son, Donald Fitzgerald and wife, Betty, of Elkhead; three grandchildren, Lorna Barr, Malinda Todd, both of Elkhead, and Deborah McHaffie of Bruner; and three great-grandchildren, Levi Barr, Cheyenne Todd, and Cody McHaffie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merman Fitzgerald, August 3, 1982; two daughters, Shirley Wheeler and Sharon Kay Fitzgerald; and two brothers, Gordan and Dillard Adams. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 21, at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Services will take place Sunday at 2 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with Lee Maggard officiating. Emra Floyd Fitzgerald, age 73, of Sparta, died Tuesday, March 26, 1996 in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield. He was born March 16, 1923 in Seymour and was the son of Walter and Stella (Lakey) Fitzgerald. He was a World War II veteran. On October 27, 1951 he was united in marriage to Betty Jo Swearengin. Mr. Fitzgerald lived throughout his life in Douglas and Christian Counties, and was a self-employed truck driver for many years. He was also employed by FASCO Industries. His parents preceded him in death as well as a brother, Merman Fitzgerald. Survivors include: his wife, Betty Fitzgerald; a brother, Herman Fitzgerald and his wife, Lois, Davenport, Iowa; eight sisters, Vonice Rose and her husband, Jim, Bonnie Williams and her husband, Carl, and Nola Gifford, all of Ava, Zora Fitzgerald, Stella Fitzgerald, and Erma Lee Lupton and her husband, Jim, all of Seymour, Genevieve Wallace and her husband, Lester, Davenport, Iowa, and Doris Wood and her husband, Bob, Long Lane; nieces and nephews. NIXA - Mrs. Frances L. Wasson Fitzgerald, 84, Liberal, Kan., died Wednesday in Southwest Medical Center there. She was a native of Nixa. Mrs. Fitzgerald was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wasson, early settlers in the Nixa area. She moved to Liberal with her late husband, E. J. Fitzgerald who died in 1935. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and St. Anthony’s Altar Society, Progressive Grange, Chapter FA of PEO and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Dr. E. J. Fitzgerald, Wichita, Kan and J. Carl H. Fitzpatrick, 84, Nixa, the son of Marshall and Minnie Fitzpatrick, died in his home Thursday, Feb. 8, 1990, after a long illness. He was born in Christian County Oct. 4, 1905. He was a retired Frisco Railroad machinist and a farmer. He was a member of the Nixa Church of Christ, where he had served as a deacon and elder for 22 years. He is survived by his wife, Mamie, to whom he was married May 16, 1925; three sons, Roger and his wife, Beulah, Nixa, J.D. and his wife, Vera, Republic, and Jack and his wife, Peggy, Forsyth; one daughter, Lalia Thomas and her husband, Frank, Ozark; one sister, Faye Reigert, Springfield; two brothers, Earl of Springfield, and Loren of Nixa; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Charles Mark Fitzpatrick, lifelong resident of Nixa, was born December 5, 1949. He died September 5, 2008, in his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Mark graduated from Nixa High School in 1967, attended SMS for one year, and joined the Navy Air Corps, where he was involved with jet engines. Mark was self employed at Diversified Plastics for 34 years. He married Mary Ross on July 1, 1978, under a gazebo at her family home. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary; parents, Charles D. and Patsy Ruth Darr Fitzpatrick; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Roger Shaw; nephew and niece, Dustin and Caroline Shaw; mother-in-law, Lottie Ross; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Donna Ross, Joyce and Darl Gooch, Carol and JC Taylor, and Joseph A. Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many good friends. Mark's wishes to have his eyes donated for corneal transplants and his body for scientific studies to find a cure for ulnar nerve neuropathy are being granted. Because softball was one of his greatest passions, his tried and true softball buddies, "The Hitmen", will plant a tree and erect a memorial named "Fitz's Corner" at Summers at the River Softball Complex. An informal gathering will serve to honor his friendships and dedication to the game. Dora D. Fitzpatrick, the daughter of Zack and Jane Maynard Faught, was born August 5, 1903. She passed away Thursday, January 23, 1997, in Nixa Park Care Center, following a lengthy illness. She was 93. Dora was born in Christian County and was a lifelong resident of the Nixa area She was a homemaker and a member of the Nixa First Baptist Church. Dora Faught and Hazel Fitzpatrick were united in marriage in 1921. To this union two sons were born. Together they were privilege to share 35 years. Hazel preceded her in death in 1956. Also preceding her was a grandson, Jon Fitzpatrick. grandson, She is survived by two sons, Wallace Fitzpatrick and Charlie Fitzpatrick, both of Nixa; two grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 4 step great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Burl Faught, Springfield and Cletus Faught, Nixa; 1 sister, Clara Wright, Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held on Saturday January 25, 1997, in Payne Cemetery, Nixa, with Rev. Kenneth Bandy officiating. James Marshall Fitzpatrick was born near Nixa, the son of Samuel Earl and Austa Mae Whittington Fitzpatrick. On May 2 1944 he and Betty Joe Payne were married. Mr. Fitzpatrick was a member of First Baptist Church of Nixa. He was employed by Sportsman’s Shop for thirteen years as a mechanic. He had also been a bus driver for Nixa Schools for twenty-two years. Survivors include: his wife, Betty; two sons, Sammie Fitzpatrick and his wife Linda, and David Fitzpatrick, all of Nixa MO, a daughter Mary Alice Wright and her husband Robert, Rogers, Arkansas; a brother, Billy Gene Fitzpatrick and his wife, Joretta, Nixa; twelve grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. Jon Robert Fitzpatrick, age 46, of Nixa, went to be with the Lord, September 16, 2006. He died in his home. Jon was born July 2, 1960, at Burge Protestant Hospital in Springfield, to Mellville E. and Virginia (Callaway) Fitzpatrick. He is survived by his parents; his son, Dustin Tyler; three sisters, Sharon K. Smith and husband Howard, Moberly, Janice E. Langford and husband, Michael, Pierce City, Linda J. Morris and husband, Michael, Ozark; one niece; five nephews; and host of international HAM radio friends. Jon attended grade school in Monett, Jr. High and High School in the Dayton, Ohio area, and Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. He confessed his faith in Christ and was baptized in 2005. He attended Berwick Community Church in Pierce City. He worked in sales, building construction, property appraisal and farming. Jon was advanced in computer programming and HAM radio operation. For his service as a member of the Republican Presidential Task Force with President George Bush, he was given the Medal of Merit. In recent years, he lived with and cared for his parents. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in South Haven Baptist Church with a memorial celebration at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Langford, Pastor Howard Smith, and Dr. J.R. Duncan officiating. She had been a faithful member of Nixa First Baptist Church since 1952. She loved to sew and cook. Her family especially enjoyed her chicken fried from an iron skillet and her special angel food cake. She was known as Grandma Dude and Aunt Dudy to her family and friends. Mamie Bolin Fitzpatrick, 87, Nixa, died Saturday, May 3, 1997, in Cox Medical Center, South, following a short illness. She was born May 5, 1909, and was the daughter of Isaac Marion and Sarah Ann (Harp) Bolin. She lived throughout her life in the Nixa area. On May 15, 1925, she married Carl Fitzpatrick. Her life was devoted to her husband and family. The love she shared with her children and grandchildren will always be remembered. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was a member of the Nixa Church of Christ. Preceding her in death were: her husband, Carl, in 1990; her parents; a grandson, Randy Fitzpatrick; four brothers, Dave, Steve, Alva, and Charlie Bolin; and three sisters, Addie Fox, Appie Walker, and Maurine Young. Survivors include: three sons and their wives, Roger and Beulah Fitzpatrick, Nixa, J.D. and Zona Fitzpatrick, Republic, and Jack and Peggy Fitzpatrick, Forsyth; a daughter and her husband, Lalia and Frank Thomas, Ozark; eight grandchildren, Jayne Fitzpatrick, David, Ronnie, and Carl G. Fitzpatrick, Arthur Fitzpatrick, Debbie Peterson, and Max and Donald Thomas; and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Adams Funeral Home, 109 North Truman Boulevard, Nixa, with Winford C. Lee officiating. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery, north of Nixa.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Fitzpatrick, 81, Ozark, were held Wednesday in the Harris Chapel with the Rev. Neal Grubaugh officiating. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield. A native of Everton, Mrs. Fitzpatrick lived for several years in Greenfield and Springfield before moving to Ozark in 1950. She was a member of the Ozark Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, L. C. “Nud”; one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Thomas, Springfield; one son, Charles Boyer of Garland, Texas; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Marshall Hazel Fitzpatrick, 56, who died December 31 at his farm home near Nixa, with Rev. Fred Jackman officiating. Burial was in Payne Cemetery under direction of Harris. For 18 years, he had been employed as a machinist with the Frisco Railroad and also farmed. He was a member of the Nixa Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dora Faught Fitzpatrick; two sons, Charles D. Fitzpatrick of Olive Branch, Miss, and Wallace Fitzpatrick of Tulsa, Okla; two grandchildren; five brothers, Dewey Fitzpatrick of South Bend, Ind., Earl, Carl and Loren Fitzpatrick, all of Nixa and Ed Gooch of Coffeyville, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Faye Sissel and Mrs. Ella Larkins both of Springfield.

Minnie E. Doran was born Nov. 28, 1870, and departed this life, May 23, 1946, at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 25 days. She was converted and united with the Church of Christ since early childhood. She was united in marriage to Bluford Gooch, Dec. 15, 1886. To this union were born two children, James E. Gooch, of Coffeyville, Kansas, and Mrs. Ella Larkins of Springfield. Mr. Gooch departed this life Oct. 2, 1889. She married Marshall S. Fitzpatrick May 9, 1894, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1926. To this union were born seven children, Madge who preceded her in death, Dewey of South Bend, Ind., Hazel, Earl, Carl, and Loren, and Mrs. Faye Sissel, all of Nixa. She is also survived by one sister, Miss Emma Doran of Ozark, and four brothers, June Doran of California. Alec Doran of Oklahoma, Leonard Doran of Nixa and Will Doran of Ozark, other relatives and a host of friends.

Nancy Jane Ragsdale was born July 26, 1848, and died Nov. 10, 1930, aged 82 years, 5 months and 14 days. She was converted at the age of 16 years and united with the Free Will Baptist church. She was married in March 1868 to Elisha P. Brown. To this union were born four children: Mrs. Eliza A. Lassley, Rogersville, Pheeba A. Pate of Climax Springs, Mo.; James A. Brown of Springfield, and John W. Brown, who died July 30, 1875. Her husband also preceded her in death, passing away Jan. 16, 1878. She was married again Nov. 14, 1878. To this union were born two children: Mrs. Nancy E. Carr of Bruner and S.S. Fitzpatrick of Rogersville. She leaves five children, 27 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, two sisters and two half brothers, Mrs. Pheeba Beeler of Kissee Mills; Elizabeth Kirby of Mill Creek, Okla.; Sidney Ragsdale, Forsyth; and John C. Ragsdale of Protem; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Mrs. Myrtle Ferguson of Ash Grove at LaRose schoolhouse. A large crowd attended. She will be missed by all. Our mother has gone and left us With tears and a broken heart. We followed her to the open grave; Oh, it was so hard to part. Our hearts are sad and lonely; The old home is quiet and still; Our dear one will come back no never, But we bow to the Master’s will. The sound of her voice and footstep We will hear in this world no more But we are hoping some day to meet her Where parting and tears are no more.

Funeral services for Mrs. F.M. Fitzpatrick, who died at her home northeast of Burner Nov. 10, 1930, at 8:40 p.m. aged 82 years, 3 months and 14 days, were held at LaRose at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, with Mrs. Myrtle Ferguson officiating. A lovely and most beautiful funeral sermon was preached. Many words of comfort were given to the bereaved husband and children. This beloved sister was Nancy Jane Ragsdale before her marriage to Perry Brown. To this union were born four children, Hannah, Eliza, Jim and John, who died when young. After the death of her first husband, she was married to Michael Fitzpatrick. To this union were born two children, Sidney and Elizabeth. The children were all present when Mother passed away except Hannah, who could not come. Aunt Jane, as she was known among her many friends, was a God-fearing and true Christian woman and was love by all who knew her. She was a mother to all in time of need. She was ready and waiting for the Master’s call to enter into eternity in peace and happiness. She leaves to mourn her departure, besides the husband and children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Phoebe Beeler of Kissee Mill, Mo., Babe Kirby of Oklahoma; two brothers, Sidney Ragsdale of Forsyth, and Clark Ragsdale; and a host of relatives and friends. A large crowd was present for the funeral services, with many beautiful flowers. Aunt Jane’s request before she died was that Sister Ferguson preach her funeral at LaRose, where she had attended so many good church services. This was granted, together with other requests. Aunt Jane was laid to rest in Ragsdale cemetery near her childhood home. The pallbearers were her very close friends Mrs. Myrtle Ferguson, Mrs. Anna Ferril, Mrs. Sarah Brazeal, Mrs. Sylvia Budd, Mrs. Stella Vaughan and Mrs. Nellie McHaffie.

Sidney Sheridan Fitzpatrick, 68, died Wednesday, March 23, at his home in Springfield, MO. His parents were the late Michael and Jane Fitzpatrick. He was united in marriage to Jessie May Peck, who survives. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Lassley of Fresno, CA and Mrs. Lizzie Carr of Springfield. He was a long time member of the Methodist church at Spring Hill. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the West Finley church by Rev. Silvey Howard with burial in the cemetery nearby under direction of the Chaffin Funeral home of Ozark.

Wallace "Wally" Fitzpatrick, 75, of Reeds Spring died Monday, July 19, 1999, near his home. He was born February 17, 1924 in Nixa, and was the son of Hazel and Dora (Faught) Fitzpatrick. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Fitzpatrick lived in Oklahoma for several years, and retired as a Postal Carrier. On December 9, 1987 he and Doris were married. He was a member of the Kimberling City V.F.W. and Elks Lodge #409 in Springfield. Survivors include: His wife, Doris; a brother, Charles Dean Fitzpatrick, Nixa; a stepson, Charles Yocum and his wife Nola, Fair Grove: a stepdaughter, Karen Hoaglin, Fair Grove: four step-grandchildren: a nephew and niece, Mark and Lisa; aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew. Visitation was 7-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. By his request, Mr. Fitzpatrick was cremated. Burial was in Payne Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
