READ THIS POST- Everyone has been waiting for information about the CIH exam calculator. When I read this I felt a sense of relief.I personally cannot verify how this works/looks on the exam. I have tried the link in the original post (screenshots in comments). There were slight visual differences but nothing significant.

In preparation for my #AIHAConnect presentation, "How to Train for and Beat the CIH Exam" (Wed, May 22 at 9:15am in A125), I've confirmed with Lance J. Welter of the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC®) that the on-screen calculator available for #CIH candidates will be TI-30XS. This is great news! For those preparing for the exam, I would recommend using Pearson Vue's digital version for at least some of your practice exam questions. It will be important to build some "muscle memory" before you sit for the actual exam. We will discuss strategies in my AIHA session tomorrow, and in the Bowen EHS CIH Review course. You can access Pearon Vue's "Test Drive" sample example by following this link: https://lnkd.in/d8Bc4MzH

🎉 This is a bit of a new year miracle (well, actually an end of December one to be honest as I finished this off last month!) Normally my CPD points are completed about a week before the deadline, when I suddenly remember I'm three points under the total needed. 2023 was different as I committed myself to completing the #CIPR75 challenge and clocked up 75 points by the end of December... three months ahead of the usual deadline and 15 more points than normal. I've covered topics as varied as:🧠 the use of psychology in campaign design🤖 AI in PR 💻 writing comment articles ❓ everyday ethics in PR 💪 powerful proposals📩 delivering the right messageAnd lots, lots more...It's been useful, insightful and interesting. And it's definitely made a difference in my day to day work.So on to the next CPD cycle in a few months time. No guarantees that it won't be a last-minute rush again next year though.#cipr

If you are following the EU #AIAct very closely - for practical compliance purposes - note that there are slight differences between the latest leaked and COREPER-approved versions. The most important one I have identified so far is the resolved issue with recital 8a on emotion recognition systems. The leaked draft contained two mutually exclusive statements on whether systems that detect physical (physiological) states such as fatigue in pilots and drivers are a subset of emotion recognition systems, or not.One sentence stated that they are, while the other stated that they are not.In the COREPER-approved draft, this discrepancy has been resolved to the effect that systems that detect physical (physiological) states such as fatigue ARE NOT a subset of emotion recognition systems, but a separate class. As a result, fatigue detection systems are not subject to the general rules provided for emotion recognition systems. However, when used to monitor behaviour at work, in education or during vocational training, both classes of systems are still deemed high-risk under Annex III of the Act, and are therefore subject to respective developer and deployer obligations and safeguards.Kudos to all colleagues working in the background on resolving these kinds of text issues at this crucial stage!
