The Sea of Flames is known as one of the most dangerous areas of Huanglong in Wuthering Waves. The flowers covering it may look pretty, but they spread a deadly, fiery poison, and it's all caused by the Tacet Field in the area. Matching the burning nature of the area, the Inferno Rider is a flaming enemy that rules its roads.

Feilian Beringal can be quite a formidable boss in Wuthering Waves, but it will be much easier to beat it once you know the attack pattern.

With a massive sword, deadly motorcycle, and Fusion-based attacks, this Tacet Discord is a potent mixture of speed and strength, and you'll need the materials it drops for your Fusion characters. If you're lucky, you might even get an echo of the Inferno Rider once it's defeated.

How To Find The Inferno Rider

Wuthering Waves: How To Beat The Inferno Rider Boss (2)

The Inferno Rider is located in the Sea of Flames on the southwestern edge of Huanglong, but similar to other Overlord and Calamity class bosses, you'll need to meet some requirements before you can fight it. You'll need to reach SOL3 Phase Two at least and unlock the ability to fight bosses, and you'll also need to have completed its accompanying sidequest, We Promise We Deliver, which involves a scripted fight with the boss and unlocks the ability to fight it normally.

We Promise, We Deliver starts as soon as you hit SOL3 Phase Two, and you'll get the initial introduction in your in-game mail that will direct you to the quest.

How To Beat The Inferno Rider

The Inferno Rider is a fast-paced boss with a lot of range, and it essentially has two phases. During the first half of the fight, the Inferno Rider will be riding its motorcycle, and it'll use it both as movement and to attack.

The Inferno Rider's fire explosion as it's getting onto its motorcycle at the beginning of the battle can hurt you and does high damage if it hits, alongside inflicting Fusion Burst stacks.

Once you break its Vibration Strength, it will enter phase two, leave its motorcycle behind, and transition to combat on foot with its sword, where it'll have a different moveset compared to before.

Dealing With Phase One

While it's on the motorcycle, the Inferno Rider's attacks can't be counterattacked, so you'll want to focus entirely on dodging while it's in this mode and try to do damage in between its attacks as opposed to going all offense. It will frequently try to smash you with its front wheel or use its sword to slash at you from atop the motorcycle, so dodge to either side and rush in to do some damage before it can speed away or retaliate.

The Inferno Rider's attacks inflict you with stacks of Fusion Burst, and they'll cause you to explode and take damage upon reaching the maximum of ten stacks.

For the most part, it will mostly stick to these attacks, but it may occasionally drive away and charge you from across the battlefield on its motorcycle as well. Because of the Inferno Rider's speed in this phase, it's going to keep close to you and won't let you retreat to heal or let the Fusion Burst Stacks its attacks generate go away, so dodge as much as you can to avoid the status effects.

Dealing With Phase Two

In phase two, the Inferno Rider is just as fast as before, but it'll only use its sword to attack and mostly has large, sweeping attacks with a pretty wide range. Since it's on foot now, you'll also be able to counterattack several of these attacks, but about half of its moves can't be counterattacked and need to be dodged still.

It can still do its charging attack as well, but it has a slightly longer wind-up and inflicts more Fusion Burst stacks. Unlike a boss like Tempest Mephis, which focuses on counterattacks, the Inferno Rider doesn't take any extra Vibration Strength damage from counterattacks, but it's still advantageous to do as many of them as possible for the extra damage.

Focus on dealing as much damage as possible to quickly deplete its Vibration Strength with echoes like the Lampylumen Myriad, and get it immobilized, then hit it with your best DPS characters' attacks.

Recommended Characters And Echoes

With how much damage the Inferno Rider can put out itself combined with the potential explosions from Fusion Burst, you'll want to make sure you have either Baizhi or Verina on your team for their healing skills.

Baizhi especially shines due to her Resonance Liberation providing healing over time even if she's off the field and ability to provide a bit of extra Glacio damage from afar.

For DPS, you'll want touse Glacio characters like Sanhua or Lingyang for the extra damage they inflict on the Inferno Rider, especially since you can combine their Glacio damage with one of the best buffing Echoes available, the Lampylumen Myriad, which buffs any Glacio character's Glacio and Resonance Skill damage after its use.

Characters with self-sustain and self-healing like Taoqi or Danjin can also help you get through this boss if you haven't unlocked any Glacio characters besides Baizhi yet. Even if you do have Glacio DPS characters, Taoqi's Resonance Skill provides some very useful damage reduction for three hits.

Non-Glacio characters work perfectly fine as DPS, such as Jiyan or Calcharo, but using Glacio ones does provide you with some overall extra damage due to the boss' lower Glacio resistance.

For echoes, the fight will be made much easier by bringingBell-borne Geochelone, not just for its Glacio damage, but because it also buffs your characters by providing both increased damage dealt and reducing the damage taken, no matter what element they are.

Any Glacio-damage-dealing Echoes are the best pick if you don't have anything else, and for defensive options, the Stonewall Bracer remains a good pick, especially if you don't have more tanky Resonators like Taoqi, as it will give you a damage shield on a successful hit, allowing you to avoid some of the Inferno Rider's high damage briefly.

Inferno Rider Rewards

Once the Inferno Rider is gone, you can spend 60 Waveplates at the glowing flower that appears in the Tacet's center, and you'll receive a variety of rewards for beating it: Union EXP, Shell Credits, EXP Items, and Intimacy Points. At SOL3 Phase Three or higher, the Inferno Rider will also begin dropping a character Ascension Material like other bosses called the Rage Tacet Core, which is used to ascend Fusion characters like Encore and Chixia.

The Inferno Rider can also drop and be absorbed as an Echo occasionally like other Overlord and Calamity Class bosses, and it'll most often end up being a higher rarity, depending on what rarity level you have access to in your Data Bank.

The Inferno Rider's Echo has a special skill, and it can be briefly used as a high-speed mount by pressing and holding the Echo skill key during or outside of battle.
